2023 is a big year with more upgrades happening for the club!!
MARCH 2023 UPDATE
It will be a quite start for racers at the venue this year but the upgrades have started.
We have excavated the main soft spots in the braking area and concreted them.
We have started installing concrete on the eastern side to remove the grass between the wall and the track.
We have excavated the western side of the track and started concrete works for the footings of the new wall, 300m of new safety wall will be installed so braking area complies with requirements.
The new LED lights for the track and braking area have been ordered and will be installed during May.
Separate to the main upgrades we have started installing new septic storage tanks at the pit area toilet block.
Our plan is to be running in May weather permitting, we should have all the track upgrades completed by then.
Work after May will be in the pit area were we will be installing concrete to provide an area that can be used for a multitude of purposes between our events. In addition to this we will lay new hot mix for the complete return road.
The Management Committee of Palmyra Drag Racing Club (PDRC) would like to thank the Resources Community Infrastructure Fund (RCIF) – a voluntary partnership between the Queensland Government and the resources industry through the Queensland Resources Council.
It has recognised the benefits of motorsport and in particular the Palmyra Dragway facility to the local area by granting our application for improvements.
The works that will be completed include repairs to braking area, construction of new safety barriers and installation of LED lights to the race track.
These improvements will enable Australia’s longest running club owned facility to continue to provide motorsport enthusiasts a safe and first class facility in central Queensland.
This investment will also allow more community based clubs and training providers a facility were their requirements can be met.

Facility Updates – 2021
PDRC committee are working on upgrading our facility for our travelling racers and for our local racers and members to be proud of! We will be adding more showers and continuing to upgrade current facility’s! As always all of our racers and crew are able to camp at our facility for free during events!
